I have only one request. If you see a serviceman or women in uniform, walk up to him or her and thank them for serving and volunteering to defend the Constitution of the United States. I promise you they will beam with pleasure...just knowing someone cares and understands their value. You will make their day." HOMECOMING PICTURES Does anyone have more homecoming pictures they would like to share? So far only Lucia Churches 73 has indicated she'll be sharing her pictures. Lorna Cline 72/73 will be scanning them in and mailing them to me soon. I would like to add more pictures to the website. Please loan me your pictures or scan them in and email them. ALUMNI CLOTHING Well the deadline for ordering alumni clothing for this year has come and gone. Thanks to David Knepprath 74 for allowing us a second printing run and to Lorna for continuing to organize the clothing effort. And a special thanks to those of you who took the time and trouble to write another check to defray the shipping costs we forgot to take into account in pricing the alumni clothing. CLASS OF 1973 Diane Schoenborn Kelly 73 wrote that she was finally able to transfer the bank account and pay off the photographer who was holding some of the photo books for ransom. Diane and Mike having also been waiting all this time for their own photo book! The photo books have been mailed out, along with reminders to pay for the requested photo books. Thanks to Diane for taking over responsibility for the class checking account and the photo books. And thanks to those of you who have been waiting patiently (or in some cases impatiently) for their photo books. L ROSE 80 Lynn wrote: I just did a jingle for ABC (The Norm Show) that will begin airing Wednesday. Apparently they will be saturating the market nationwide with this jingle to super-promote "The Norm Show". Its three part harmony (me harmonizing with myself) singing, "Dream Date With Norm" and other lines but that one is the main hook that gets repeated, over and over. Can we somehow let the class of '80 know to keep an ear out for the jingle. It will be played mostly on radio, even during The Howard Stern show. It's a lot of fun! These are folks other alumni are looking for. Please take the time to examine the list and see if you can help. We haven't been doing too well recently, although this week we did find Sue Wiseman 68. Thank you so much for your offers of help and your expressions of sorrow over my loss. I wanted to update everyone with what little information I know. My mother was pregnant with me in her senior year (would have been around 5 1/2 months at graduation). She was dating my father but I am not sure he attended Encina... or whether he was in her class. My mother, throughout my life, told me bits and pieces of information. I know she listed father unknown on my adoption papers, when her first husband adopted me. She also had my last name listed as Baker. (I know there were some Bakers attending Encina in 1965 and I am in no way implying that either of these were my father). My mother told me that after she told my father that she was pregnant, angry words were spoken and in her anger she ripped up all the pictures with my father in them and threw away any reminder of him (except me). I have heard that he may have played football for his school and that he was a husky man. I have read my mother's yearbooks and a few people seemed to sign them in a way that led me to believe that they were pretty close friends. If anyone knows the wereabouts of these people could you forward my information to them. Diana Nadey, Carol Sievers, Edith Hoffman, Carol Mackley, Pat Duke, Rita and Rena Reynolds, Pat Farley or Judy Bradley. (Some of these names are people who were in the G.A.A. with her) I am hoping someone knows who she was dating at the time she became pregnant. Once again, Thank you all for your help with this. Sincerely, Denise Honea che32@aol.com AMAZON.COM Amazon.com has added several new stores. They bought one of my favorite catalog stores, Tool Crib of the North, and now have a home improvement section along with music, DVDs and video, toys and games, software and electronics. Remember to link to the Encina store when you purchase from amazon.com. It doesn't cost you any more and the Encina website receives a 5% commission. HOLE IN ONE My mother, Mary Lau, who taught at Greer before she retired, wrote: "Today I scored my very first and probably only "hole-in-one." It happened on the 7th hole of Antelope Greens. It is only a 66 yard hole, but there's water surrounding 3/4 of it. I usually end up in the water, but today was an exceptional day...not only at that hole, but as a whole. The course is only 58 par and I was 22 strokes over par or 80. Barb had a 79-she was having a good day on the front nine, but less good on the back. Used an 8 iron. Just pure luck-absolutely no skill involved here!" My mother golfs regularly with Barbara Yoder, another alumni mom!
