Michael Ohm also did time in 'Nam and came back pretty shook up by it all. I never made that war. But, Ray is right we all have war memories. Linda Goff 67 wrote: My brother Carl Goff served as a pall bearer at Larry Keister's funeral during the war. They were in the class of '64 toghether. I looked up Larry on the Wall on Feb. 14, 1997 in Washington DC. just a few days after what should have been his 50th birthday. He only made it to 21. Mike Kelley, also class of '64 came back with lots of shrapnel from a Claymore mine. He worked with BJ Collins on raising the funds for the California Vietnam Vets Memorial. Mike was an art student at Sac State before he was drafted. One of the items sold to raise money for the memorial was Mike's sketch of Larry stepping out of his '56 Ford (it was a great car) directly into the jungles of Vietnam. Very evocative of what our generation went through, especially those who went from hot-rodders to soldiers overnight, and then didn't come back. I copied this from a site about the names on the wall: LAWRENCE LEE KEISTER 21 year old Single, Caucasian, Male Born on Feb 02 1947, From SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA His tour of duty began on Sep 06 1968. Casualty was on Jan 26 1969 in BINH THUAN, SOUTH VIETNAM HOSTILE, GROUND CASUALTY GUN, SMALL ARMS FIRE Body was recovered. I first met Bill in 7th grade and was informed his mother had died in fire in the family home and he never recovered from the loss. His father remarried and moved on letting the kids live in the family home w/ their oldest sister if they wished. Bill had become a successful self employed businessman. Bill was a good person, I walked with him at graduation. I only hope he now rests in peace with his mother. I have seen Vicki on many syndicated shows as a host or as a reporter. I also recall hearing Vicki on KQED public radio in San Francisco. I don't know what she is doing now as a lot of television talent lead a nomadic life from market to market. Maybe someone else can fill in the blanks but I always get a kick out of seeing Vicki on the air.
