ENCINA ALUMNI,

The Alumni Challenge is upon us!

Here is some important information for those of you who
will be attending.

We have only received payment from about half of those who
have rsvped for the alumni challenge 8^(.

If you haven't paid by now, we will accept payment at the
door. But please let us know if you can't make it so we
can give the caterer an accurate headcount.

We will have badges prepared for all who have RSVPd and those
who have paid will have a color coded dot showing so.

People can arrive for tours anytime from 4:30 pm until 6:00.
Dinner will be served from 5:00 pm until 7:30. You can
arrive at late at 7:00 and still eat dinner.
The game starts at 7:30.
Dessert, sodas and music in the cafeteria after the game.

Location: ALL alum should check in at the cafeteria when
they arrive!

Snacks will be sold at the game (except for water, which is
not allowed in the gym) and dessert will be sold after the
game in the cafeteria.


CHALLENGE

We have approximately 140 rsvps as of tonight. It's not
too late to sign up. We'll accept payment at the door.

We reached our per point pledge of $250 today thanks
to Nancy Reid Decker 88!

We still have a chance to reach the goal of 200 attendees.
Those of you who have rsvped, please consider bringing your
families and make a few calls to your procastinating classmates.

Chuck Armstrong 77's classmates have pledged an additional
$35 for each point he scores, making his points worth $285.

We would like to thank everyone who has rsvped, made donations or
pledged for their support and generosity!

Please spread the word among classmates who are not on the net
and do not receive the updates and aren't aware of the alumni challenge!

We achieved our oft revised goal of $250/alumni point thanks

Bob and Steve said we will have about 5 minutes during
halftime for folks who are interested in attempting
the half court shot. Remember, $5 to Encina for each attempt.

Fred and I would like to come to the dinner and be and see a part of the

celebrated Fred's 90th birthday on 4/30. We had a wonderful party and I was
speechless!! I lost my voice on the Tuesday before-doing better now.
We were CO-president's of the PTA for the years 1976-1978.
We are long time supporters of Encina and holds many memories for us.
Fred would like to know who the fellow was at a dance we were chaperoning in
probably 1977 that came to us and asked that we please call his parents-and
tell them it wasn't him that had been drinking but someone that had thrown
up

FIRST ANNUAL ENCINA HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI CHALLENGE

In order to raise desperately needed funds for the school, the first
ever "Encina Alumni Challenge" will be held the evening of Friday, May 11.
This will be a fun and interesting event for all Encina alumni-held at
the school-featuring tours of the campus, a fabulous catered dinner,
and a basketball game pitting an alumni team against this year's
league-winning team.

Event: Alumni Challenge
Date: May 11, 2001
Place: Encina High School
Time: 430pm to 1030pm
Cost: Before May 1st
$20/person for adults; $10/person for children under nine
Includes tour, dinner, game and postgame socializing
After May 1st, $25/adult; $12.50/children under nine
All proceeds will go directly to Encina.
Danni's Catering is providing the meal at cost.
